Triglycerides are a type of fat found in the blood which is used for energy. But in excess are a risk to the heart and metabolism and linked to high blood pressure, high blood sugar, cholesterol, diabetes, stroke, etc.

The purpose of a triglyceride test is to check the triglycerides in the blood, in order to identify heart diseases(mentioned above)
Test procedure:
The test requires a blood sample and may require 9-12 hour fast prior to the test.
