Iron Deficiency Test

Brief Summary:

Iron is a mineral needed by our bodies. Iron is a part of all cells and does many things in our bodies. Iron is a part of many enzymes and is used in many cell functions. Enzymes help our bodies digest foods and also help with many other important reactions that occur within our bodies

 

Technical Purpose:

Iron tests are taken to check anemia and the probable severity of it.

 

Test Process:

A blood test is taken to check the iron levels

 

Test Outcome:

A normal hematocrit range is 34.9 to 44.5 percent for adult women and 38.8 to 50 percent for adult men. The normal hemoglobin range is 12.0 to 15.5 grams per deciliter for an adult woman and 13.5 to 17.5 grams per deciliter for an adult man.
